Spring 2024 | One Room Challenge | Century Home Dining Room Refresh | Week 3 and Week 4

Welcome to Week 3 and Week 4 of the One Room Challenge and thank you for joining me on this journey! My name is Margaret Stagg and I am the Owner and Principal Designer here at Stagg & Paper Interiors. 

Progress has been made over the past 2 weeks! Wallpapering, painting and refinishing the hardwood floor has all been completed. With these labour intensive tasks behind me, I can now focus on figuring out and purchasing the finishing touches that are really going to complete the dining room and make it feel like part of my home.

I love how the paint and the wallpaper are working together, and the darker paint really brings out the warmth in the wood. My house was built in approximately 1910-12 and the inlay hardwood floors are original. The floors are in really great condition, but over the years have definitely taken some abuse with 2 boys and a big dog running around. I knew going into this, I did not have the budget to get the floors refinished, so I looked into options I could do myself and came across a hardwood floor restore product in the hardware store. I was a little skeptical but the results turned out great. My floors have their shine back and some of the more worn areas look a lot better.
